Talking about the past: WAS/WERE

Sometimes we talk about things that happen in the present time. Then we use the simple present (I am, you are, he is, she is...)

But a lot of times we talk about things that happened in the past. Then we need to use WAS and WERE.

A veces hablamos sobre cosas que suceden en el presente. Entonces usamos el Presente Simple. (yo soy o estoy, tú eres o estás, él es o está, ella es o está...)

Pero muchas veces hablamos de cosas que sucenden en el pasado. Entonces necesitamos usar ERA.
